About

Established in 2007, Clínica Esperanza/ Hope Clinic (CEHC) is a 501(c) 3 organization that is dedicated to breaking down the barriers of accessible healthcare. Our mission is to provide culturally attuned and linguistically appropriate medical care and preventative health services to the uninsured of Rhode Island.

The clinic’s vision is: (1) to reduce health disparities; (2) to engage in healthcare workforce development; and (3) to improve health self-efficacy. CEHC serves a population vulnerable to large health disparities through direct patient services and in community-based outreach sites.

Over the past twelve years, CEHC has successfully implemented (and published) several innovative chronic disease intervention programs for its more than 3,000 patients, and has documented the success of these interventions.

Our focus is on prevention and health maintenance, giving our patients the tools they need to improve their quality of life in the long-term.

We primarily serve patients through The Clinica Esperanza/Hope Clinic Emergency Room Diversion Project,

or The CHEER Clinic, our walk-in clinic for non-urgent medical care.

We also work with community members to empower others through a variety of health education and outreach programs, including a women’s health clinic, a nutrition and healthy lifestyle program, a childhood obesity prevention program, domestic violence support groups, and health screenings.
